Ford Evos Plug-in Hybrid Takes Connectivity to Absurd Level
Ford Evos Cloud-Connected Plug-in Hybrid Concept Car
One of the favorite features of my Nissan LEAF has nothing to do with its all-electric drivetrain. As soon as I start up the car, the Bluetooth system finds my iPhone and begins playing songs from the iTunes on the phone. That’s very cool.
I have an Apple MobileMe account (soon to be iCloud) so it won’t be long before my phone will provide the linkage between my car and my music, files, schedules and other data stored on the cloud. This can get mashed up with weather, traffic conditions and route info. Imagine when that combines with info from my home charger, nearby public charging locations, utility rate plan, other EV-related information, and even home solar generation data. Everyday, I’m more convinced that this brave new world of electric car connectivity is right around the corner.
