Gear couplings are popular form of flexible coupling in mechanical power transmission. Suitability to wide application areas, usability & easiness in installation has made them one of the most preferred types of mechanical power transmission couplings. Basically, they form a mechanical device that has high capacity of transmitting 'torque' between two connected shafts, which are not collinear.
Considered as torsionally rigid in performance, their basic design can be divided into two major types:
Full Flexible Type Semi Flexible type or Flexible-Rigid connection.
